Color

Color is the one issue that links all of my creative activity. It gets me out of bed in the morning.

I love the whole subject of color; for a designer, color is a power tool. Color can command your complete attention in one case; or can allow your mind to wander and expand, in another case. It is our first and strongest impression: dark and mysterious, pale and muted, crisp and clean, or warm and sophisticated. As a fine artist/painter, color is something I know about and color keeps teaching me new things.

Much of my joy in designing comes the moment I can consider the application of color. I love it’s infinite possibility and complexity; value, hue, intensity, temperature, in the shadow, in the light, foreground, background, accent or envelope.
